How to Load the Bench Press

A barbell can be loaded with:

  •     straight weight (barbell + olympic weights)
  •     chains
  •     elastic bands
  •     isometric
  •     elastic bands + kettlebells

Odd objects can also be used for bench pressing:

  •     sandbags
  •     kegs
  •     kettlebells (double, unilateral, alternating)
  •     heavy bag
  •     a training partner
  •     strongman log
  •     strongman axle
  •     thick bar
